What “assets under administration” means here
The sum of reported gross asset values for private funds that name an administrator in SEC
Form ADV, Schedule D, Section 7.B.(1). This is a filing-based estimate, not an
administrator’s self-reported company-wide AUA.
One fund, one value per administrator
We deduplicate funds by private-fund identifier. If multiple firms report the same fund,
the administrator ranking uses the most recent linked filing; ties resolve by CRD and
source row. A client’s total uses that client’s reported values. Client totals can
overlap.
What the percentages measure
Asset coverage divides assets with this admin by the client’s total reported private-fund
gross assets, including funds without an identified administrator. Fund coverage divides
the number of funds linked to this admin by all private funds reported by that client.
These are not percentages of the firm’s regulatory AUM. A fund naming multiple admins
counts toward each; percentages across admins can add to more than 100%.
Names stay visible
“Grouped” names use explicit alias rules or reviewed mappings. “Reported name” entries
have not been confidently grouped; punctuation-equivalent names are combined, but
potentially different businesses stay separate. Hanover Park, Hanover Technologies, Inc.,
and Hanover Park Technologies, Inc. are grouped under the Hanover Park brand based on
corporate and trademark records. Formulary Financial is also included.
Funds without a named administrator
Funds with no administrator name in the filing appear under “None named / Self
administered.” That filing status does not confirm that the adviser performs
administration itself.
Missing and conflicting values
Missing assets remain unknown, not zero. Where filings disagree on a fund’s value, we
retain a conflict count and use the same latest-report rule. Coverage percentages are
unavailable when a denominator is missing or incomplete.
Timing and scope
Relationships are the latest reported information in this snapshot. They may lag provider
changes. Adviser withdrawals are not independently reconciled in this dataset.
